CONFIGURATION AND DETAILS OF TAMILNADU STATE GOVERNMENT'S FREE LAPTOP

   TamilNadu Government offered free laptop to government school 11th and 12th standard students and Government Engineering college students. They targeted to produce 9.12 lakhs .

Configurations are below:
Operating System:  Windows 7 & Linux BOSS 4.0
Screen size          :   14 "
Weight                :   2.7 kg
Physical Memory:   2 GB Ram
HDD                  :   320 GB
Excluded in DVD writer, Web camera, Modem
Cost of Price     : 15,000 Rs.
 But I m unlucky to get this offer. because I passed out from reputed government engineering college in this year only.

    Please go for "mostly Indian" model. Though most chips cant be indegenous, please purchase from HCL (home made) or Wipro. Do not use Microsoft.. use Linux.. Advocate Open Source.. & India Source

      i deleted linux and now installed win 7 (64 bit) only in govt lap (acer). dont knw y my video player softs are not working well.. guide me with ur tips plz!!! waiting 4 ur reply

      hai pons...download and install all the drivers ......u can download all the drivers for acer asphre e1 431 from this site....http://aceh-soft.blogspot.in/2012/10/acer-aspire-e1-431-driver-for-win-7.html......and all d features wil work well ....

      I use netgear modem for broadband and I connected acer laptop. It works fine, download speed also good.

      Dual Core. So obviously 64 bit. only single cored processors are x86 (32 bit).

    My best choice, please sell it while receiving, after some more months it may not work and your datas will be lost. We can't consider this laptop to 25000/- worth laptop.

    for those who have problem in connecting Broadband, please ensure if the ethernet driver is installed in the Device Manager. If that is not installed download the Ethernet Driver and install it . It will be okay. Gandhi Kumar .M / 7708789250
