Even a couple of years back, IT companies used to hire engineering graduates a year before they passed out . However NASSCOM asked engineering colleges to postpone their placement season to final semester. This was was done to nsure that software firms would go in for just-in-time hiring, to ensure that they do not over hire in a environment where project pipelines were under pressure. Owing to this rule the campus placement had begun only during the last semester for the students in the year of 2010-11. Now there is a rule given by NASSCOM that NASSCOM test to be madatorily taken by those aspiring for jobs in TCS, WIPRO, HCL, CTS etc. IT allowed to conduct placement session to SEVENTH semester also.
Is there any rule of nasscom that the company should give joining date to the studdent within one year of recruitment???
