co-founder,chairman and CEO, the man behind the first personal computer, died Wednesday at 56 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. The innovative genius revolutionized the technical world with the iMac, iTunes, iPod and iPhone. Apple employees called him as iCEO.
- Jobs got $1 as a salary for CEO post. 50 cent for attending meeting and another 50 cent was based on his performance.
- Not many people know that Steve Jobs is a college dropout. He attended one semester only.
- Jobs was adopted by Clara and Paul Jobs, a middle-class American couple.
- "In terms of an inspirational leader, Steve Jobs is really the best I have ever met," said former Microsoft Chairman and Chief Architect, Bill Gates in January 1998 when asked to name the CEO he most admired.
- Jobs wanted to study and experience spiritualism and existentialism. In India, he wanted to visit the Neem Karoli Baba at his Kanchi Ashram. However, when they arrived they learn't that Baba has died.
- Out from Apple, Jobs, then 30, started NeXT Computer Inc. The company developed a computer rival to Mac and PCs powered by Intel chips and Microsoft's Windows software.
